@Goyim Like you, I failed to properly read/interpret a competition's guidelines. Although accepted, I kicked myself in the rear too.

"Are…are you sure this is okay?" The women asks, eyeing the dark water. "What if someone sees us.."
"Of course it's okay." The man responds confidently. "No one comes to this river. Ever" He turns to her and watches her shiver slightly in her towel.
"It's going to be freezing." She responds.
"No," replies the man as he wraps his arms around her. "This Autumn has been really warm, and water holds heat longer than land."
"Oh" She says quietly, still watching the water.
"You'll get use to it..I promise. We'll have fun. You're the one who has always been nagging me to do it, remember?"
"You're right." She says shaking her fears from her head. "Let's do this."

Together the young couple walks to the end of the dock, drop their towels and lower their naked bodies into the water.

"This is pretty warm," the women giggles, paddling around.
"Here, I found a rock to stand on"
The women swims to her beloved, thankful when her toes reach the smooth rock. She peers up at him, admirably as he pulls her closer to him.

They stand on the rock for several minutes until she says between kisses, "hey, It's raining."
"We only need to get out if it starts to storm." He says quickly, urgent for her to redirect her attention back to him.

Instead she turns to him, her face suddenly angry as her palms hit his chest. Loosing his balance, he falls backwards, his feet loosing the foothold. Treading the water he glares at her, "What was that for?!"

The women swims a couple meters away before turning back to him shyly. "I- I told you not to touch there. You promised we'd go slow."
Confused, buy not wanting to fight, he nods. "Of course, sorry babe. Just got caught up in the moment."

The rain is pouring heavier now, the large droplets splashing noisily into the water.
"Will the current get too strong?" The women asks, swimming back towards the man.
"No, it will be okay for now. Now, where'd that damn rock go?" His feet blindly search the lake water looking for the rock when he feels something cold and hard push into his lower back.

Yelling, he jumps forward, his body quickly twisting towards the direction of the attacker until his spots it and his body goes ridged. The women lets out a surprised scream too, but as she swims towards the man it turns into a shrill alarm of fear.

There, in the water a girls body floats to the surface. Her skin is a ghostly white, made even pallor by the illumination of the moon and car headlights. Her black long hair sticks to her forehead and exposed skin and a sickly rotten smell fills the couples nostrils.

Screaming, kicking, yelling, splashing, the couple race towards the land.

Hours later, when the CSI team finally reach the isolated river, the body is no where to be found. The rain turned into a thunderstorm, and the ladies body was washed further downstream.

Who knows how long she had been there. Who knows if they will find it again. All we know, is that the ladies fair body had been dislodged and disturbed from the gentle bed of mud from rain and pressure resulting in floating up, up and away.
