*stares the pic a few minutes in slack jawed awe, then snaps the mouth shut* Perfection. Enough said exactly like a photo! This gonna be on the top of HOF for looong time.
when people normally say a drawing looks like a picture there's at least three or four tiny little things wrong with it, but this is dead sure perfect o_o.... 6 6 666 6 66 6yp0r,pg,ov 6
Uhm.... this is about as perfect as perfect can get! I wish I could add one of those little smiley face thingies, but I don't know how. Words fail me. Uhm... honest to God, my heart skipped a beat when I saw this. You should change your name to insane - cuz, that's what everybody keeps calling you! *LOL* Do I think this is insane???? HELL YES! This is about as sick as you can get. Thanks for giving me something to aspire to! Technical perfection! I can't wait to get this comfortable and this skilled with these tools. You really should do these things in public so that people who wanna learn can. Just a thought. Well, I dunno bout everybody else, but I sure would like to watch in learn!!!! May I????
I'm stunned at this. You have such a gift, Concept ^-^ And it really DOES look like a photo. I'm sending the link to this for all my friends to see too. Just wow...and well done!
Despite the fact that half my friends on iScribble gave up drawing because this made them lose their self-confidence and faith in their own talent, this sure is a nice pic.
Ha I just showed my mum this, and she said "that's not a drawing, it's a photograph" "I know, it looks like one doesn't it!" "It must be a photograph someone's uploaded" "No mum, someone drew it" "They can't have" "They did" "Show me it being drawn" "I can't" "There you go" "No, look I'll show you some others"- goes to your gallery- mum at thumbs:"Those look like very different styles of drawing" "That's because they're collaberations with other people" "hmm sounds suspicious" "It's not possible to cheat on this!" "He must have hacked into the system then" "NOT POSSIBLE" "It's a photo" *sighs in exasperation* SEE WHAT YOU'VE CAUSED? My own mother won't believe me D;
Meh, its not that great. Besides, car's are boring. ... lol J/k. This proves you are a super f**king freak machine lol I saw the reference for this, you got it exactly. The colors and everything. You might as well have just hacked iscribble and put the photo in there for all the difference it would make. Extremely well done, it must have taken you much longer than I would like to think about. lol
I dunno WHY everyone's freaking out. It's not THAT great, I mean, sure it looks exactly like a photo, and sure the details (even in the background) are amazingly perfect, and SURE the whole thing is a stroke of genius, but really, is that so uncommon? O.O
I have a thing against copying or using references at over 99% similarity but I mean this is probably the most accurate duplication I have ever seen in my life.
It just bugs me that the picture is a little off in some places. :|
Hmmm yes. I need to add another comment. The skills and dedication taken to make this are really impressive. Still I dont understand the motivation as the result really is the same as the photo. To me drawing is about something else. Its mostly about creating something new, unfold the imagination. Pictures like this have none of that no matter how well its reproduced.
But dont get me wrong. Really impressive work still. As a reproduction this must surely be about as good as it gets.
After what you said I just had to check, it isn't exactly the same. There are some differences.
@Egl:
The point of reproduction of pictures, at least to me, is not the end product of having two of the same picture but rather, the process of getting there and what you learn from doing it. Concept probably used some advanced techniques to get it to look the same and probably learned some new techniques in the process. That is the 'motivation' you speak of; to learn new techniques and to strengthen the techniques you already have.
i had a comment like that on my spider drawing, this picture is the same, drawing from photos and any reference is such a new thing to me, i always created new and creative things, but then i realised that to really tap into the fundamentals of realism, you have to study things that are real. Drawing from photos helps me alot in understanding what it is that makes a picture look real.
Observation leads to understanding, essentially everything is copied from something, just changed. Now if i had a GT40 in my backyard, and took a photo of it at a different angle, then drew it, would that not be creative? are the old masters drawing from a real model not creative because the final product is an almost exact replica of the original model? as someone who wants to be a concept artist, all i ever do is spend my time coming up with something fresh and original, but essentially i merely change what already exists. Of course i could spend weeks drawing this in photoshop pixel by pixel until i actually duplicate the picture exactly. But i'm not insane. I just want to see what is possible using 5 tools on a tiny web browser canvas.
oh my goodness! Can you please stop banging out nice drawings like a photocopier?! I think I'll just give up now. phooey. I agree with using photo refs to draw from, you really can learn so much through observation and a photo makes it so easy because you have it right there... and its not gonna move anywhere. Better than drawing from a photo though, is drawing from life. That way you have the real thing right there and the way you draw it is up to your interpretation. When its right in front of you then you can make your drawing embody whatever it is.. plus you can be sure that its a one of a kind drawing. After drawing lots of the same subject from observation you can basically draw it realistically from your head which is what I love most. Then you really have the most freedom of expression because you dont feel confined to make it look a certain way.
I have no problem with photo-realism, it isnt exactly art to me but its training and practice.. and practice makes perfect. so do whatever you want, its your work anyways!
That truly is amazing. The time it must've taken.. Well, that goes without mentioning. Lot's of patience is required to produce a work precisely as the reference, meticulous really. Phenomenal. =)
i thought i was good, but your the best concept, YOUR THE MAN.
before i was dreaming of attaining 6 but because of this i im giving up and accept the fact that there is someone better than me and i will not attemp to challenge u or anyone else... ---_____---
i personally dont respect copying as much as creating, but if this isnt a transparent window trace its insanely accurate, almost pixel for pixel apart from on the height of the wheels. as for the taking a photo and whether itd be art to copy that photos... id say the photo would be the art, the copy just a reproduction. as for the comment about the masters, drawing from reality is totally different to reproducing a photo which has the hard part (3D to 2D) already done. That said, this is still unnaturally accurate. well done.
Very Nice ,I can admire the Skills yes and the Patience to reproduce such an exact and precise copy of the original photo, having said that i cant understand the constant need to reproduce photos on here.Seeing all the photo realistic stuff on here leaves me dead like a cold fish,I much prefer to see something more original.

I absolutely agree with you Egl on a lot of levels and I totally get what you're saying and I think that in a lot of ways - if concept was a commercial artist being commissioned to crank out his work - you're absolutely right - a client would see this and go "okay... and..." BUT - at this point... Concept is not a commissioned artist (I don't think) and this picture isn't for a client and you have to admt that this is pretty mind blowing! O. M. G. - I mean, when you do something like THIS - it's not necessarily about doing something extraordinary. My God - how many of us can do what he did???? I can't even wrap my head around it. THIS is not about creativity - this is about mastery. This is about creating an illusion so perfect - the human mind can't tell the difference between these pixels of color and the real photo! I'm speechless looking at this thing and I think I watched the video about a million times. There's only one reason to ever even attempt such a time consuming, painstaking thing - and that is to learn, as an artist, TRULY how to see. And not just HOW to see, but how to translate what you see into something that makes sense to the eye and to the mind - so much sense that you have to do a double take.
And even if that wasn't Concept's reason - MY GOD.... he did this with five tools on a computer screen using a program created by one person who never imagined in his life that this site would cross paths with this person. FIVE TOOLS. One man. *lol*
Concept - I totally know what you mean by understanding what makes a picture look real. Not that you wanna get caught up in creating images like this because if your drawing looks just like a photo - your client will say, "Well, why not save a helluva lotta money and just shoot a photo." But this is excellent at helping you get the weight, the angles, the color saturation, the spacial arrangement, and the subtleties of everything - just right. Just for your own reference and mastery as an artist.
And I don't think Egl is jealous - he has a valid point and every right to voice his opinion. Concept is a big boy - he can handle a little questioning and open discussion about his work. Artists face this and more all the time.
I would just challenge any and everyone to do this, too. Be in awe - I sure am. But know this - you can do this (or something very much like it) if you are willing to really try. Thank God for Tyb for creating this medium where stuff like this can be made, and I'm gonna try to see how close I can come to doing this too. Try it. And you'll see that it's not magic, but skill. A skill you can learn - and even if you never come close.... I bet if you tried, you'll be a better artist than you ever imagined you could be.
THANKS AGAIN, Concept for the massive inspiration.
And I know that I am gonna get BLAZED here for my long comment, but I don't care. I don't care. I don't care!!!!! I'm so blown away by this that people can say what they want about me. I. Don't. Care. And I had my sister here today to see this - she couldn't believe it. GOD - I love it when that happens!
I, for one, LOVE to see the photorealistic pieces! Especially when they're done well. Just like I like to see all the other images - when they're done well. I am always cruising the gallery just to be inspired. A lot of you friggin iScribblers are AWESOME. Why judge when you can just - enjoy? From this to manga (which I'm slllloooowly, learning to appreciate), to something inbetween - when you got it, flaunt it! And make no apologies.
Amazing! you are amazing. 3 Things that I want to tell you, Concept:
1- Do you have fun painting like this? ... keep on doing it!!
2- It is original! how many people can paint with so basic tools in such a realistic way?. That make yourself original. (I respect all the styles and I believe that Iscribble has excellent level of painters)
3- "add a whatermark" to your jobs on Internet and collect all your jobs, you have a great potential! Protect your work.
People:
About to paint from photography, it is a technique.... Edgar Degas, William Bouguereau, David Siqueiros, Alphonse Mucha ...etc etc etc. They are not originals?
If someone takes so seriously to do art here, to the point of debating if this is an art or is not an art. And it does big efforts to stay completely original, Please! do not limit your spirit in an Internet place, go to the art school, learn skills and try to sell / to publish / to exhibit your art. And keep drawing on Iscribble
Kisses to all! and congratulations again Concept, keep creating so wonderful as always!
I think concept did a great job with this pic, and if you watch the load of it you really can't see any signs of tracing (he does an insane amount of adjusting and readjusting all over the pic in very erratic patterns). Honestly, the pic doesn't interest me on a creative level, I'm just not fond of cars, but in terms of artistic devotion I'm definitely impressed.
What I'd like to see you do is take a photo like that and draw it but alter the features. For instance, change the color of the car, the numbers, etc. while maintaining the lighting and perspective. That is the best way to really test yourself, as even the smallest changes can throw the whole thing out of perspective.
.....................................................OMG THIS IS NOT DRAWN!!!! ITS TO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!66666666666666666666666666!!!!
I really wish it was still rated a full 6- you totally deserve it.
Also, since my friend can't comment on pictures yet, Perspective wanted to say that you've "inspired me to work harder on my pictures that I submits to the gallery."
Oh my fucking god. Honestly, I think this is better than the original picture. I can't stop thinking that you just uploaded this.. it's so perfect.. Well, as perfect as a car can be.
I would give this a 10 if I could. I don't think 'Exceptional' really sums it up.
This really does look like it's a picture! Dx But aha! >D The only difference I noticed by looking at the two for about ten seconds is the grass. The circle tool can be recognized. :B And my eyesight picked up small spec of dirt under the six on the hood! >> << But really, I can't find anything wrong with it! D<

Lol. Plagiarism.
This reeks of the use of outside programs.
^ Hater?
No. I'm saying it's not art, he's just copied a photograph. And outside programs = colour pickers, which I've been told he uses by other sources. Oh snap. Hence why I call him overrated. It's not a crime. Anyone and their mum's could copy a photo with those same tools. Especially in the timeframe of a month. HOWEVER. If he did what the other dude said and coloured it red or something, I'd probably then say it was good. But he didn't, so too bad.
Tegan is one of those people, who thinks a picture of a washed out black and white photo of a deck chair sitting in the middle of an open field and calling it 'Memories of a lost Imagination" is art. I have met people like Tegan before, they lack skill and actual knowledge of the fundamentals of being able to draw something and understand something for what it actually is. She doesn't know what it means to go through the ups and downs of learning how to draw, to perfect a skill. Instead, she sets out to do her best to to shut people down, to make them feel like what they do, and what they have learned, is only as good as she says it is. I can take criticism, i set out to find it. But you are no critic, Tegan, critics help people. You're just a bratty little girl who never learned how to draw.
I would also appreciate it if you didn't comment on my drawings anymore. Thanks.
"I criticize. I don't draw. If you can't handle criticism, go fuck a horse. Yes, my drawings are shit. I know. I don't care. When I DO draw, I draw with a laptop touchpad, ok. Drawing isn't my life. I never said I was a 1337 art1st."
I mean...she even admits it in her user info - she is not a artist and she can't draw. I do not see how one can criticize a superb piece of art/drawing/photo...whatever...when they can't even draw themselves?
Thats like me going out and saying Einstein was the stupidest guy alive.
And again - i repeat this awesome quote:
"Jealousy is the tribute mediocrity pays to genius."
And thats what Tegan is - Jealous of everything - of everything that she wants to be and wants to do and wants to have - but she lacks the skills, the brains, the passion, the effort and the imagination to do something worthwhile.
Lol, that's like saying that someone who can't play instruments can't bag a band they don't like.
And Concept, I'm a fan of your art that isn't a blatant copy of something else. Ones that show imagination and creativity. Drawing an exact copy of an image, isn't art to ME. You might feel otherwise, but I'm allowed to have an opinion. If you don't want me to comment after this, then fine, I won't
I'm not jealous of anyone, by the way. If I wanted to be a drawer, I'd practice.
I'd like to say that you've done an amazing job with this piece of work, Concept. Whether it's art or not, it must of taken a lot of practice to get to the level that is needed to make a picture like this. It requires an eye that can pick out the details that are out of place in your drawing compared to the original picture. I hope that someday I can be at the same level of artistry that you are at.
I would also like to see you elaborate on this picture, and maybe change some colors here and there. It would make for an awesome picture if you redid the car in a completely different color, or gave it a cool paint job like black with flames or something.
And also, I would like to say these comment pages are supposed to be about the picture, not if a person is jealous (a comment about Egl), incappable of being jealous (wizz2007), or if the picture is not rated a 6 (that's a comment about the rating, not the picture). People are allowed to express their own opinions on things, like whether this picture should be considered 'art' or not, but it shouldn't be a place where we talk bad about people just because they have a different opinion than us. Remember that right above the comment box that you type in it says "Your comments should be about this drawing only." ONLY. not on people's comments.
And yes, i know that i am being a hypocrite by saying this, since im talking about the comments and not the drawings, but this needs to get out there. These comment boxes are for comments on the pictures. Let's leave it that way.
Again, good job Concept. I know that you probably receive a lot of "good jobs" and "HOLY CRAP! I didn't know you could upload pictures into the hall of fame!", but you truly do deserve that praise. I can't wait to see you're next piece of art. ~Perspective
kyaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! sheesh....how u color and add the shading, where the lights and stuffs...are....just...so...ghostly (lol, i found it as a synonym for awesome!).

I mean it looks just like a picture, you are sure it's not a fake picture? OFC NOT YOU HAVE GOT THE WORLDS BEST SKILLS!!!!! MAN I LOVE YOU!! AND YES I AM GAY FROM NOW ON!!! OMG"!!!!! :
OMG They need to invent the 100000000000000000000 star rating so that we can all rate that! 6 isnt enought for this! You cant see any difference at all ....!
wow to make shure this was a drawing. i looked at the picture. the real one. and then it was proof cuz he made the picture BETTER. ya. and then i saw the vid when i was firmly decided it was a drawin.
LOL iLaurie, it's a drawing, look at tyb's YouTube video! It shows Concept drawing it! And it's really amazing! Oh, and I guess that doubt is basically a huge compliment, Concept. When someone doesn't believe you. ;3 Amazing.
