sping blossoms.
Delicate petals,
vivid with youth,
fluttering freely on the breeze.
Bedgrudging thorns
pierce their fragile grace
with a false tenderness.
Red nectar drips,
sorrowfully, regretfully,
from branch to branch,
and is swallowed by
the last of winter's snow.
