I love the rendering of the bubbles. This makes me think of the movie Finding Nemo - I love that movie and I actually love to watch the bonus extras. In The Making of Nemo - there's the back story about the artists and how each one was in charge of something specific - the lighting, the scenery, the colors, the characters, etc etc. And one section talks about the water sequences and how expensive they are to create - especially the bubble scenes. And the artist said - there were a lot of water shots in a movie like Nemo so they really had to plan the budget carefully and not waste money on water movement where it wasn't needed and the BIG sequences and scenes - the ones with bubbles - had to be reserved for the most important and most special parts.
You have captured that in this picture you painted here! It's not photorealistic, but this looks like something from a scene in a DISNEYPixar animated film!!!! The attention to detail and the control exhibited here is just breathtaking. It would be easy to go overboard on a piece like this, but you didn't! It's soft where it needs to be soft and hard where it needs to be hard. And it's definitely hard to do tone on tone!! That's where the layers come in so handily!!
Again - I am just amazed with the bubbles. That is worthy of study right there. The circle tool put to excellent use! This is definitely showing an advanced level of skill with the tools. I don't know if you used them all, but what you did use - well, yes, you've effectively mastered. And if anyone wants to know what a Tournament ready piece should look like (in terms of quality, control, mastery, interpretation, and overall effect) well.... this is it folx.
very smooth! you've done an amazing job on this! my eyes are immediately drawn to the mouth and that perfectly awesome row of teeth. I dont even want to think about the work that went into those bubbles. you've captured a great feeling in this.
